Lovely Stupid Men, or ‘Nhung Chang Kho’, have been together for over a year now in Hanoi. The band members practice whenever they can and all hold down day jobs.

Simon, an English language editor with Vietnam Television, started singing four years ago, when he arrived in Vietnam. Paul, a Kiwi English teacher, has studied, played and written music all his life. Cuong, a reporter for Voice of Vietnam Radio, studied at the Hanoi Music Conservatory. Thang, who plays double bass in the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, also studied at the Conservatory. He has just returned from a tour around Southeast Asia. Sy plays drums and bongos professionally with the Vietnam National Circus. Do plays percussion around town for a number of different bands and is Sy’s younger brother. They recently performed at a famous festival of Vietnamese classical music in the city of Nha Trang. Both Sy and Do are self taught percussionists.

Lovely Stupid Men are currently on tour in Italy.
